Fun Playroom Ideas and Reveal

{If you’re new here, you may want to follow me on Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest.}

I’ve shared pictures of the playroom chalkboard wall (to see more, click HERE), but it’s time for a full playroom reveal (along with some fun ideas for decorating a playroom)…

Since I have (2) boys and a girl, I try to keep the decor gender neutral.  The walls are a pale green, and I’ve just added bits of color and fun everywhere else.

 I added lights across the room to help with lighting.  The room was built to be a study, so there isn’t an overhead light.

 The wall across from the chalkboard wall is the kids art gallery.  I found these decals on Etsy, and you can find the listing HERE.  The map is from Hobby Lobby, and I loved the colors so much that I kept with this palette throughout the room.

 I adhered paper clips to the wall to hold the kids’ artwork.

 This art is another find at Hobby Lobby and the ship was left behind from the previous home owner.

 I framed some of the kids artwork throughout the room.  This is one of my favorites.

 I made pom poms out of yarn following this tutorial from Positively Splendid:

I added clipboards (also from Hobby Lobby!) to the chalkboard.

 My six year old added this to the door when you walk in.  If the door is shut, don’t bother him.  “Art is goin.”

    • Thanks, Heather! I found the curtains online, and now I can’t find where I found them. I’ll keep looking and get back to you… (Although, I think I’d try a DIY version now that I have a polka dot stencil!)

  1. […] that might not be your child’s favorite in a few months? Try some bold curtains instead! has another great idea by stringing lights up on the ceiling. How fun for the kids to be taken away […]
