Which side of wax paper do you use? Does it matater?
No – it shouldn’t matter!
I am wanting to use this idea at a girls camp. Can i prep by having all of the images printed in advanced or does the ink need to be wet in order to transfer in time?
I need to check with Angela from http://www.unexpectedelegance.com since this is her tutorial, but I do think the ink needs to be a little wet. I’ll see if I can get her expertise!
I didn’t see where the picture was that was transferred. Could you tell me how it works.
Thank you
Hi Lynda!
The tutorial is actually a video. The video is towards the end of the post, and you just need to press the play button. Hope I helped!
Does this only work on unfinished word, or can it transfered ont a painted surface?
Angela at http://www.unexpectedelegance.com knows much more about this process than I do, but I’m fairly certain it would work on a painted surface!
U r ideas are such fun for kids to help with. Thanks so much.
Thanks, Kathleen! Happy New Year!
Wondering what the chances are that you could use these transfers on glass bottles??
Hi Leigh, This is my friend Angela’s project (www.unexpectedelegance.com), and she knows all about wax transfers if you want to ask her! I’m so sorry I can’t help.
great video and thank you for sharing . I could not get the Wax Paper to go through my printer . I tried spray adhesive on an 8×11 sheet of paper and temporarily attached the wax paper. It worked great.
What a great tip, Donna! Thanks so much for sharing!
Hi Sara!
Just wondering if after the image is transferred on wood, can it take a couple of coats of poly without smearing?
Hi Amy! Check out this post, it should answer your question: http://www.unexpectedelegance.com/seal-printer-ink-from-a-wax-paper-transfer/
I am having a difficult time. The transfer is easy and it works…but when I use on chalk painted furniture it smears (days later). What do I finish my projects with to avoid smearing. I tried wipe on poly. It smears. Likewise when I wax. Help!
Hi there! Hopefully this answers your questions about sealing the wax transfers: http://www.unexpectedelegance.com/seal-printer-ink-from-a-wax-paper-transfer/
Dear Sara, thanks so much for such marvelous idea!
I love your tutorials! Keep on doing!!!
KR!
Thanks for the kind comment! I can’t claim this tutorial – it’s my friend Angela’s who blogs at Unexpected Elegance. However, thank you!
Hello Sara, I enjoyed my visit to your wonderful and creative blog. I look forward to more visits. Hugs
P.S> I didn’t see any share buttons so I shared your url
Thanks so much, Katherine! I appreciate it and the comment!
Hello! It is grate, but I can not understand the webpage adresses that she mentioned, where she gets the pictures from. Can you please write it to me? Thanks! 🙂
Hi Christina! Angela mentions The Graphics Fairy: http://thegraphicsfairy.com
Can I transfer onto a ceramic tile??
This was my friend Angela’s (at http://www.unexpectedelegance.com) tutorial. I don’t know much about this process, but you can check out her site and ask her!
Hi, what is the name of the software you would use to go in to flip your image as I couldn’t make it out….great crafter..thanks in advance..
Hi Mona! I used Adobe Illustrator, but most printers/office supply stores should be able to flip your image for you.
Can this be used on canvas in the same manner?
I don’t know much about this – it’s my friend Angela from http://www.unexpectedelegance.com tutorial. She can probably answer your question!
Thank you for time and reference.
